Two Opportunities for Bereavement Support

8-Week Bereavement Program

How do you go on living when you’ve lost someone you love and your heart is broken? Where do you find comfort, understanding and some coping skills to help you get through the most difficult  time in your life? This fall Incarnation and Most Blessed Sacrament Parishes will co-sponsor an eight session Bereavement Program. Among the topics are: symptoms of grief, different ways people grieve, dealing with feelings of anger and guilt, and how to get through holidays and special occasions.  During each evening’s presentation there will be time to share, if you so desire.

Meetings will be held at Incarnation Church, 429 Upham St., Melrose from 7:00-8:30 pm on the following Tuesday evenings:
•September 16, 23, 30
•October 7, 14, 21, 28,
•November 4
•December 9 (reunion meeting)

Pat McConville, who has training in bereavement and pastoral issues, and Christine Primiano, who is also  experienced in supporting the bereaved, will facilitate the group. Please call Pat at 781-454-5394, to find out more about the  program or to register. This is a time to come together with others who are also  grieving, to better understand what  you’re experiencing, and to find hope and  support in a faith community.

Monthly Bereavement Support Group

In addition, for ongoing bereavement support our Collaborative offers a monthly meeting.  The Most Blessed Sacrament Bereavement Support Group, facilitated by Ellen Meehan and Chris Carlson, meets monthly on an ongoing basis in the MBS Parish Hall. If your life is impacted by the loss of a family member or close friend, please plan to join us for conversation, sharing and mutual support. We welcome new members, and a commitment is not required. For more information about the group, please call Chris (617-957-1985) or Ellen (781-526-4471).
